These are photos taken by some of our friends of the Education Committee. We hope that you enjoy looking through our photo gallery!
East Coast Yacht Sales moved boats out of their showroom and transformed it into a classroom for our seminar. Fifty people attended this seminar that covered everything from cooling systems to "when do I rebuild my engine?".
During the seminar break, students could take a look at the engines and spare parts. There was a lot of discussion on impellers and fuel treatment

Pat Donovan from Mack Boring (at the engine) and Dana (background) the Head Mechanic from Yankee Marina were the instructors for our seminar. We had 2 Yanmar engines to look at as well as some of important parts such as: fuel filters, mufflers, impellers and air filters.

The Teaching Fleet: J29, J100, J109, J42 and J44
The J's are on the starboard side (not all had arrived at the time this photo had been taken)
Our Sail Trim Class started in the Portland Yacht Club dining room with a 30 minute lecture given by Carter White of Hallet Canvas and Sails. Afterwards, participants were given their boat assignments (grouped by skill level) and then the classroom moved down to the water. Let the learning begin!
Some believe the boat line up for the Sail Trim Class was a planned "J Boat Round Up" with all the participating boats "J''s" (OK, we had a J29, J100, J109, J42, J44) But it really wasn't! I am quite biased here as I am one of the participants ( a J109 owner) but it was a really great time.
This photo is a sweet one - a J100 and a J109 side by side. I am almost teary-eyed!
Students boarded their assigned boats and spent some time with their instructors dockside before heading out for some sailing.
Don't be fooled by the bow wash here! The light winds were a challenge for our instructors!
Sherry Fowler was our instructor on this sweet boat that Jon Knowles donated to the class line up.
During our class we had 2 power boats checking on the fleet and taking photos. Jonathan Knowles was in his HBI in this photo.
